Cara Delevingne, Wearable Tech´s Fashion Ambassador?

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past couple of years, you won't have been able to avoid Cara Delevingne. To begin with, I wasn't a fan... but now I'm leaning towards being an admirer. For someone so young, she has managed to accomplish so much already. I can't even count the number of collaborations she's done on my two hands, but they include Mulberry, TAG Heuer, Topshop, Yves Saint Laurent... the list goes on! More recently, Miss D. has even done a spot of acting. Whatever next? A Cara Delevingne visual album?!

Her forefinger lion tattoo perhaps symbolises why she is so admirable; she's fearless of being her wacky self, which makes her relatable and aspirational at the same time. Of course, her family and famous eyebrows have helped her along the way, but she's managed to create her own empire and following.

With the announcement of her most recent collaboration with TAG Heuer, followed by an announcement of a TAG Heuer smart watch by then end of 2015, this got me thinking... could Cara help wearable tech finally gain a foothold in the luxury sector? Cara Delevingne is already actively collaborating with Mulberry on a range of accessories, which includes camo phone and tablet cases, so it seems she's on her way to doing so.

So... what does this mean for wearable technology and fashion? Both fashion and tech giants are undeniably watching the wearable technology space, the fashion element of which is yet to burst. Big names are looking towards fashion leaders, such as Cara, to help bring the ultimate wearable tech to market. A TAG Heuer smartwatch is interesting enough for me, so if they were to bring Cara on board with the project then it may just be the iPod to the Sony Walkman (just a whole lot classier!)
